NPP (Nandrolone Phenylpropionate) is an anabolic androgenic steroid with a small ester. It has reduced androgenic properties, due to the fact that Nandrolone is metabolized into Dihydronandrolone (DHN) instead of the far more androgenic Dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Nandrolone Phenylpropionate (Methandriol Dipropionate) is a 19-nortestosterone (19-nor) steroid. The 19-nor classification refers to a structural change of the testosterone hormone in that the carbon atom has been removed at the 19th position. This simple structural change gives us Nandrolone, and by adding the short Phenylpropionate ester we have Nandrolone Phenylpropionate.
NPP can also be used for cutting cycles. It will significantly protect lean muscle mass better than many steroids. When we diet we must burn more calories than we consume. This is the only way body fat can be lost.
Nandrolone has been used successfully in AIDS patients to stimulate weight gain. Although athletes using NPP in lieu of Deca find it to produce slightly less weight gain, this is probably a result of gaining less water weight. It is a more popular drug than Deca for use in cutting cycles.
